BBT

Hello Everyone,

I would like to start tracking my BBT....I have no clue on how this can benefit me or if this will even work...I do know that I must get a really good thermometer and make sure that I record my BBT every morning right after waking up...What would be a good thermometer to use for this method? What can affect my BBT? Would my record keeping be affected if I miss a day?

Any advice regarding this topic will be greatly appreciated...Thank you all in advance!

i know progesterone can but i'm not sure about clomid, i just don't temp while i'm on it because i know i can't be ovulating.  it takes a little while to get a routine down, but now when i get to my medication days i forget to stop and i still temp sometimes but i don't write them down.  mine have kind of been all over the place because i wake up at 445am on the days i work and 10am on my off days.  i started setting my alarm taking my temp then going back to bed, kind of s*cks but it will be worth it.

hi, i have been tracking for 9 months now not counting the days on clomid.  when you track your bbt you will see a trend, normally your temp dips the day of ovulation and then spikes the next day, it stays up until af or hpt.  i have not ovulated yet, but i have had two false ovulations (according to bbt). one cycle i got an sinus infection my temp spiked the day i started feeling sick and dropped the day after i started antibiotics.  the other cycle it looked like i ovulated but i did not.  doc says my lh was high enough to cause a thermal shift but not ovulation.  i bought mine at walgreens it was actually labeled body basal thermometer.  progesterone can affect your temp too, so i don't test during clomid or prometrium.  i missed a few days, if you miss "o" day you won't be able to tell when you ovulated but there will be a thermal shift after you start charting again.  i use the ovulation tracker on here to keep track.  anyother questions i can answer let me know.. oh and you have to make sure you have at least 4 hours of uninterupted sleep before testing. if you had a restless night you temps could be falsely high.
