Colposcopy

I have an appointment scheduled for Wednesday for a colposcopy...I'm sooo nervous and scared that it will be something serious and will cause further delay in getting pregnant...I would just put it off, but I can't start my next cycle until I have it done...has anyone had one done & what was the outcome, if you don't mind sharing?

I have had a colposcopy before, and I won't say it's pain free, but it's not terrible.  The best way I can describe it is it is like menstral pressure and cramping.  Take some tylenol or ibuprophen before you go to the office, and it will help.
My colposcopy came out fine, but I was very nervous that my abnormal cells would be cancerous.  After you have an abnormal pap, they have you redo a pap smear 3 to 4 times in the next year.  Since my experience, my paps have been coming back normal.
I can understand being worried, but it's better to get it checked now while things aren't too bad then to let it go.  Most of the time it's fine, but you wouldn't want to let it go, and it not be ok.
On a very positive note...I have a friend who had an abnormal pap and colposcopy.  She was treated, and has a very healthy, happy 3 years old.  She concieved her daughter after she had been treated for mild cervical dysplasia. So, don't give up, no matter what!!
