Metformin worked for me. I was officially diagnosed in September,  although I had self diagnosed myself at 17. (I'm 24 now) I was prescribed 1000 mg a day of Metformin on September 18, and had my first AF October 1st,  and amazingly had another one November 1st.  This was the first time in my entire life that this happened two months in a row. I was expecting my next AF on November 30, when it didn't come I automatically assumed the medicine had stopped working and that I needed to increase my dosage. Just to be safe, I took a test on December 3 and got a BFN. I had full intentions of calling my doctor if nothing had changed in a week. I had a gut feeling on the 7th to do another test, where I received "pregnant" in a matter of seconds. I am currently 6 weeks 4 days pregnant and am patiently waiting my first prenatal appointment on Jan 10. Here's to hoping everything goes well! Good luck to you and your efforts, don't give up!

It took a year and a half for me..all I did was no sugar, low carb diet and exercise. Was very strict with it, lost a lot if weight and boom. You haven't even been trying a year.. 1-2 years trying to.conceive is normal. Keep trying naturally.. you don't need meds yet. Also don't stress, forget you are trying for a baby. Good luck and don't panic

I also have PCOS.  We discovered this after 8 months of TTC with no positive results, only missed periods (falsely making me think I was pregnant), not ovulating, unexplained weight gain, etc.  We are now currently in our first round of IVF.  I don't say this to scare you as I have no idea your age, other symptoms, etc.  My husband had a part in our decision to do IVF as well as other issues I have going on (thyriod).  I am 36, my husband is 39 so we didn't want to wait any longer, plus we got a very high probability for pregnancy with IVF, so that is why we moved forward with it., BUT I have read that it can be somewhat managed by diet, reducing sugars, eating nothing processed,  there are some good books about it out there.  I am one to try an approach like that first before meds.  I read that if you can reduce your body weight by 5% you can help to reduce symptoms.  I'm not MD, but I did a lot of reading about it.

GOOD LUCK!
