Help please spotting every other day.

My last period was May 2nd and lasted 14 days prior to that my last period was in December, I do have PCOS so for  my periods to come and go as they please is normal.  However this is the first time that I have been spotting for seven days.  It started last Thursday for two hours nothing on Friday Saturday a morning of spotting Sunday nothing Monday like an hour ect ect.... Now today is Friday hubby and I had relations last night and I woke up to spotting again took a shower and its gone.  Have you been through this before??? Should I call the doctor just to be told its PCOS and nothing they can really do.  I did take a preggo test two days ago and it came back normal, however if this was implantation would a test come back positive at that time???? Please thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated to calm my nerves.

Yes sometimes losing weight will help reduce the symptoms of pcos. One time I gained 13lbs in a few months which made my period 10 days late. I lost 11lbs and my period became on time again. Losing about 10% of your current body weight will improve your symptoms.

I had spotting like you for 9 days..just spotting..then 4 days later AF came full force and now its been 14 days of completely red AF. When asking the doc she said this was normal with having PCOS. Your body is trying to start ur AF. She gave me a "taper", provera to after taking 3 pills 10 mg for a week, the following week add other, and the following take 5 pills for 2 weeks. She saids that your linging in so thick that this be the reason why women with PCOS have long periods. I am scared to take the provera becausae we are TTC. But 16 days of AF is normal for me. I am on Metformin 1,500 mg a day, and I have been on it for 4 months now. I have been having periods every other month, which the doc would like it to come every month for only 7 days. But I would say to call the doc on monday, and see if they can see you. It is not normal to have periods for longer then 7 days. But everyone is different! Call monday morning, and share ur concerns! SSBD to you!

Thank you for your response the doctor has recommended putting me on BC pills to help regulate but I did decline in the hopes that I would get pregnant one more time, I have recently gone for blood work within the past six months and I guess my hormones where not completely out of whack enough for him to put me on hormonal meds.  I was planning on calling him Monday morning if the sporadic spotting occurs over the weekend.  Docs recommendations for PCOS try to loose a few pounds, eat healthy and exercise, he believes that getting back on track with healthy weight will improve my PCOS.

Oh and another note he said that within six months if I was still unable to get preggo he would recommend me to a Fert Spec, I am supposed to be tracking my Body Temp daily but have been slacking the past few weeks.

To have irregular spotting is not normal. So if you see a GYN and they say "Oh your bleeding because of your PCOS, there is nothing we can do" is plain BS. Are you on any medications for your pcos? Metformin is suppose to help with weight loss and sometimes in long periods of time, make the period more normal. If your thinking your pregnant, then wait a week or so and test again. It doesnt't sound like implantation bleeding because it shouldn't last that long. I would really think yes, it is your PCOS causing you to bleed...but you should really be under doctors care for this so you don't get worse.
