I have PCOS

by Dnh333, Jul 24, 2009 03:02AM
Ok so bare with me.... I have PCOS still a bit confused by it. Supposedly I will have a hard time getting pregnant but I still worry about it. After a night with a friend I had taken 14 birthcontrol pills to supposedly act like the morning After pill. I know its stupid but none the less I still did it. We all have our moments but Now I felt like I was starting my period and got the cramps end everything I was massivily lighter than normal. Maybe light pink and now nothing. Is that normal or should I worry? I am also a bit confused on if I should even worry about getting pregnant with PCOS because its different with everyone?

I have been given Metformin by my doctor and a blood pressure medicine used as a diuretic. It has been helping alot. In the beginning weighed 198 lbs and now I weigh 175 lbs. Its great because I'm finally starting to feel normal again. Iam finally starting to enjoy life again. What is this like for others who have PCOS?

I also have PCOS and well when you have that your period isn't normal so you well have it sometimes and sometimes you won't. I dont think you have to worry right now. It seems you will have it soon with the waight loss and everything I think you'll be fine. Give it few months if nothing happen then you should go see your doctor.

It dose make it a little harder to get pregnant so if you don't want to get pregnant then play on the safe side, protect your self because you still hae the chance to get pregnant.

PCOS is different for everyone. And not everyone has trouble getting pregnant. Some girls do, some don't. And just because you have PCOS doesn't mean you won't have a period at all. I know some women who have normal monthly periods and have PCOS. I have PCOS, but I never have periods without medication. I also know women who have PCOS that have had no trouble having 2 or 3 kids. You should always take precaution if you are not wanting to get pregnant. If you feel there is a reason to be concerned you should contact your doctor.

You should not have taken all those bcp's at once. Please use protection if your not wanting to get pregnant now. Your body is probably all messed up from taking the pills. Some women have no problem with getting pregnant and others do. I always got my monthly cycle, however it would last sometimes up to 2 weeks and 1 time for an entire month. It varies from woman to woman.

That was really dangerous that you took all of those birth conrtol pills, just to avoid getting pregnant.  Chances are, you can bank on not getting pregnant with PCOS, the statistics show this.  Birth control can really mess with your hormones...be more careful and make better judgements.

Just because you have PCOS does not mean you rule out pregnancy all together. Many who have PCOS do end up getting pregnant. A friend of mine on here is currently pregnant with twins and she too has PCOS. So just because you have PCOS doesn't mean its OK to have unprotected sex because you cant get pregnant, so untrue.

I have PCOS and have normal periods every month.  Some last longer than others and are heavier or lighter but they are always there.  My husband and I are trying to get pregnant and I have been trying all different things.  I have been reading a lot too.  I noticed that a lot of times they say to lose weight, lose weight, lose weight.  It's easier said than done with PCOS!  If anyone has any insight on that, let me know.
