Laser Laperoscopy Scheduled

So I was diagnosed in November that I had PCOS, and was put on Metformin. I just scheduled my laperoscopy for December 15th. DR. and I had discussed January.  DH is nervous. He's making me a little nervous. I'm excited too. I was wondering if any of you all have had the surgery and could let me know what it was like. I haven't had a surgery since I was 11.

It'll be a good start towards conceiving.  The surgery helped me lose some weight after.  Not sure how, but it did without me changing my eating habits.  Eating right and exercising helps keep the PCOS symptoms more under control.  I hope you don't worry much.  Good luck. Please do let us know what happens.

Laparascopy is a simpler surgery than a laparatomy.  They use small incisions and so recovery time is much quicker.  I have read and heard that usually by one week, the woman is already back to normal.  I had a laparatomy done this past April and my recovery time was quite fast too.  I had a c-section in the past and the c-section was way more painful than the laparatomy.  Don't worry, if you're having a a laparascopy, the doctors are probably sure that your cysts are benign or they wouldn't risk spilling the contents of the cyst by squeezing it through smaller incisions in a laparascopy.  I had a coomplex cyst so I had to have the open surgery.  I also know that the most painful part of the recovery from a laparascopy is the pain the gas left inside you gives you.  You'll be fine and recovery should be speedy.  Good luck and try not to worry.  We always make things worse by thinking too much about it and wonder too many "what if's."
