Metformin and breast changes

About 2 months ago my doctor put me on the Synthroid, a thyroid drug, Then about a 3 weeks she put me on Metformin. For the past 3 or 4 weeks I have been noticing changes in my breast. Shooting pains off and on, tingling. It is normally just on the left side but the right one also gets pains and tingles at time, just not as much. Anyway.........my breast seem to "feel" different, like they have more whatever in them. The also look a tad fuller. In general I have been have spotting, breakouts(acne) and pelvic cramps. My biggest concern is the changes I feel and see in my breast. Could this be a result of the Metformin "waking up" my body and womanly areas? Anyone else experience this?
Oh, and I am not pregnant, I have taken a zillion test every week hoping and prayer but nothing yet.

I'm on 1600 MG a day. two doses of 850 MG.

Do you have insulin resistance? Did you have blood work done?

I had blood work done and they said that i have low progesterone and high testosterone and insulin resistance with the pcos. Also I have facial hair.

I also am very over weight. I weighed 400 pounds in Jan, 377 on 09/11/08 and now 349 pounds.

I found out that i ovulate by charting my cycle. also have a full cycle after a few months,

Yeah with in like 2-4 weeks my breast start to hurt.

you can send me a private message if you have more questions.

im on metformin too, and did not have side affects at all. just the first week of sick feeling and diahreah and thats it. then again im on a low does for now, only 500mg until jan 4. so maybe the sick feeling is due to being on a higher dose

I am not on progesterone only the metformin and my thyroid meds. Did your breast start feeling fuller after only a few weeks or did it take longer? Congrats on your ovulating! :) I am not sure I will know if I am ovulating when my periods are irregular. I have been very very very light spotting about every 3 or 4 days, once a day for like the past 4 or 5 months so I have not idea what is going on in that department. All I know is that dh and I have been having unprotected sex for the past several years and nothing has happened. My doc says I have pcos. Along with that I am overweight.......like alot overweight not just vanity pounds, and I am also insulin resistant. I hear they are all related to pcos. I am praying soooooooo hard that the metformin will help me with this but I am wondering when and how will I know when it has started working?
Also what dosage are you on. I did 500 mg for a week and now I am doing 1000 mg a day.

I'm on metformin and i started to ovulate again on it. It makes me feel very sick, nausea and yes my breast hurt too.

Mine are fuller also so I think it can be something to do with that.

Also if they give you progesterone that will do that too.

I started on metform on 9/11/08 and finally ovulated for the first time in over a year on 10/31/08 even had a normal cycle last month. I really like that medication.

check out my ovulation chart
