When I was first diagnosed with PCOS I started on met formin and a calorie count. I was able to loose about 5 lbs a week (if I kept a really close eye on my diet.) and felt so much better. I only was able to if I kept eating healthy, the moment I stopped watching what I ate I gained 10 times as fast as before and felt just blah. If you have questions or trouble with the tummy problems I would advise a low carb breakfast and to talk to your doctor about what would be a good calorie count for you and how to stay inside it.

I then got married and waited a few months before trying to get pregnant. I was so bad at taking my medicine and eventually wasn't taking it at all. I went to the nurse at my OB/GYN, and she upped my prescription and I started doing well with my medicine and the next month conceived. I'm now about 4 months pregnant. :-) best of luck to you!

Hi,

I took metformin for over a month and had to stop! I could not get past the tummy trouble (TMI)  it also didn't do anything to help me.

Someone just recently mentioned NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine) to me. SO i have been doing some research and it is supposed to help with all aspects of women who suffer from PCOS. It is a natural supplement that you can get a your vitamin store or even some health-food stores!

I am going to ask my doctor about this before I take it though.

Good luck and take a look at this article!
