On metfromin AF came a week early would this be normal

Hi guys I have PCOS and was placed on metformin 500mg & FEMARA 2.5mg I did my first cycle and went back to the doc had u/s and he said it worked a little but not to his liking and that I need to see a specilaist for injections. He said the PCOS was still stopping the ovaries from functioning correctly. He upped the metformin to 1000mg and on 5/14/09 it gets upped again to 1500mg. I had a progesterone test on cd 20 it was 8.7 to see if anything was working. Three days later (should have been cd 23) AF arriived this was a shock to me bc she's early (about a week). Does metformin cause your periods to come earlier? Do you think I have a progesterone deficiency? Anyway I don't know but I've started taking prenatal vitamins and today was the start of round to on femara 2.5mg maybe we'll have luck this round. I go see the Reproductove Endocrinologist on 5/19/09 maybe she can shine some light on it for me.
