PCOS and weight loss

I have been doing some research on PCOS and it says that it is hard to loose weight.  Is this true?  Is there anything I can do to help me loose weight??

Unfortunately, PCOS makes it much harder to lose weight due to the insulin resistance. Before I got pregnant (7 weeks now!), I would run 5-6 miles/day, stick to a low calorie low glycemic index diet, and still be able to put on 10 lbs within 6 months! It is very frustrating but not impossible to lose weigh with PCOS, it is just MUCH harder. Best of luck :)

I have been reading about PCOS and the effects it has on weight loss.  It seems to be a bit more difficult to lose weight with PCOS. I'm not sure I have it but based on (i know this is bad) self diagnosis I have a few of the symptoms of PCOS (irregular menses or lack of, weight gain)
Any tips or what I can do to lose weight if in fact I have PCOS.  About 2 months ago I started working out (initially just started walking) and now I'm at the gym at least 6 days a week for at least an hour + a day but have only lost 7 pounds.  Is that normal?

I suffered a m/c back in March and vowed to myself that I would only TTC after losing some weight so I can have a healthy pregnancy.  It's a bit discouraging though.I'm almost 39 and worried that the longer I wait the less of a chance I have in getting pregnant!!

I started a very strict low GI diet a month ago, and have been exercising a few times a week.  I have lost 12 lbs so far.
