I have very regular cycles - ovulate every month (or at least I believe I do) and I have PCOS. I say I ovulate every month because it is extremely easy for me to become pregnant - staying pregnant is my issue. I have very high insulin levels as well. So it is possible to have PCOS and still ovulate and have "regular" periods - there are a lot of symptoms of it and not everyone gets all of them (thankfully!!)
I used to have VERY reg periods.... But I in my 20s began to get hair and the other MINOR symptoms of PCOS.... I did not miss my periods till later in my late 20s...... I would suggest watching your symptoms, and POSSILBLY getting a pelvic and internal ultrasound if your have and abdominal symptoms.
I think I am. In the passed I have had mid cycle pain (like stitch kind of) I only tracked my ovulation this month after buying a kit and it showed that I had/was going to ovulate. (which would explain the slight pain I get mid cycle)
No abnormal bleeding during the month, no pain that doesnt seem related to mid cycle ovulation. So I don't know, it might be nothing. I'm probably just stressing over nothing.
I could do with losing a few kgs which would probably help move things along if I did that. I might keep tracking for a couple more months and just see how it goes.
Thanks :)
Are you ovulating each month? There are many women who have PCOS and have regular periods...but the main issue is they are not ovulating. I never missed a period either, I always had a period each month too (just alittle heavy and longer then it should of been). PCOS is different in everyone. Some ladies are overweight and some are thin. Some have cysts in the ovaries and some don't (i have none). What other symptoms do you have? Any abnormal bleeding during the month? Abnormal pain? The excess hair is another sign of PCOS. If you are concerned about it, I would bring it up with your gyn.
