Periods and PCOS

Hey ladies.  Just wondering if anyone has had the same experience as me. I came off the pill last may to find my periods did not return. After investigation I found out that my ovaries are enlarged with 12 cysts on each. I have only had two natural periods since then. Just started on Clomid so im hoping for goos results but it worries me that my cycle will always be practically non exsistant xxx

Sounds like you are in a good diet. High fiber and low sugar. My periods were irregular since age 12 and I lost weight & ate healthy to get them regulated. Also, try to stay stress free because that doesn't help either. Good luck.

Thank you eeveryone. Do you mind me asking if you follow a specific diet? My BMI is normal and I eat lots of fruit,  veg,  nuts and seeds etc. Is there anything else you can suggest. Maybe because I was on the pill for ten years hasnt helped. Xx

I have pcos and my periods have been irregular my whole life, I could go 6 months without one then have 2 in a month... it was really had but since my fiance and I started trying to get pregnant my healthy eating and exercise have made it so much more regular. My last 3 have been perfect 28 day cycles. Unfortunately not pregnant yet but I'm hoping it's a good sign that I'm a lot more regular :) so my advice is to exercise regularly and make sure you are eating well as sometimes that is all it takes to become regular :) other than that I was on metformin for a bit which did help my periods become a little more often but not regular. .. have a chat to ur doc and they will give u the best advice specifically for you as every case is different. :) good luck xx

My doctor never found any cysts but I had been off birth control for a year or so and no periods to really speak of either. I might every once in awhile get some spotting but that was it. I went through some really weird stuff and ended up back on birth control but I am off again this time trying to have a baby. Fingers crossed we can work it out this time.

ok you are having cysts.it means you having polycystic ovarian syndrome thus is diseases of hormonal inbalance meaning more on male hormone lack of ovulation and insulin resistance. lack of ovulation results irregular period. my doctor first prescribed to me duphaston or provera since I dont get period for 4 months and after I get period he prescribed me birth control pills diane since I not planning to concieve and to help to normalize my hormone he prescribed to me also metformin to insulin resistance and to help to reduce testosterone. once you having pcos it will not remove just bec of you get already period monthly whenever you will stop taking hormonal pills the period will stop also. I advice you to talk your doctor about it.
