Side effects of meds for PCOS

My dr. recently prescribed Metformin (500 mg 2x/day) and Phentermine (37.5 mg/day). I started the meds approximately a week ago. I was told the Phen would give me all of this energy and that the Metformin would keep me in the bathroom a lot until my body adjusted, but I have had neither really. The first couple of days on the Phen I had a boost of energy, which I loved, but it quickly faded. I am now constantly tired, no matter how much sleep I get. From what I've researched fatigue can be a side effect of both medicines.  I have also been constipated, from the Phen (or so I think) and from my research I've found that you can be fatigued from being constipated, so I'm not really sure what I'm tired from - one of the meds, being constipated, or a mixture.

1) Is this normal?
2) How long will it take for my body to adjust?
3) Can I take anything to help with the constipation while taking these meds?
