Surgery inevitable?

Two gyns are watching some "solid component" that is attached to my left ovary.  It has been there and causing pain since Aug 2nd.  Would something solid just go away on its own or will surgical intervention be needed?  The cyst is was attached to has shrunk to half its size in 4 weeks time.
