Thank you for your suggestions yeah I am going to ask some more questions We have talked about metformin to help with weight loss. But I really really want to avoid going back on the pill. Progesterone wouldnt be my only problem with a pregnancy either I have an Rh factor to worry about too My husband is A+ and I am A-. So I might have a hard time when it comes to having a baby.
If no cysts are present yet, then just tell the doctor you want to conceive soon and so birth control is not an option. They'll prescribe other medications that will help prepare your body for pregnancy and help control the PCOS symptoms. Ask lots of questions and get checked for everything needed to get checked with PCOS because there are lots of women who have miscarried due to low levels of progesterone. Prepare your body first. Talk to your doctor about all the steps necessary to do so. It's very possible to carry a baby to full term even with PCOS. Try not to stress though because that takes a toll on you too and makes things worse. Take it day by day and stay positive. Good luck.
I would definately ask more questions. I was just diagnosed a few weeks ago with PCOS. They wanted me to go on the pill too, but I refused. My DH and I are TTC so obviously that wasn't the best option. There is a lot of research being done about PCOS though and there are other treatment options. For me, we went with clomid for now, trying to get pregnant. It's not a PCOS treatment. But I have a lot of other issues with TTC. So after 2 more months of the clomid we'll be going to Metformin and possibly Metfomin + Clomid (depending on if I get pregnant or not).
The one doctor told me my follicals looked good if my ovaries had any cysts they didn't say anything. Getting pregnant in the near future is something my husband and I are planning on. We kinda looked at this possible pregnancy if it happened it happened as we really weren't trying at the time. I have never been told I have had cysts on my ovaries and I have had 3 or 4 vaginal ultrasounds and I cant even remember how many abdominal ultrasounds and 2 ct scans 2 of the vaginal ultra sounds were done when they thought it was cysts causing me pain but nothing ever showed up. and the Ct scans were done when they thought it was my appendix......It's so frustrating
Hi! There are other options other than the pill to treat PCOS, especially if you want to get pregnant in the near future. Did the doctor tell you that nothing showed up in the ultrasound? Your symptoms are PCOS symptoms and I'm sure the doctor wouldn't tell you you have it if you didn't. Never be afraid to ask lots of questions. If you can't be seen until the 29th, then you should call them and ask to speak with the doctor. If he's busy they'll take a message, but if you keep bugging them, he'll be sure to call you back. Maybe one of the nurses can answer your questions too. Two months isn't very much as to consider it a regular period, but everyone is different. Like I said, your symptoms do point to PCOS. I'm sure your doctor will keep an eye on your ovaries and keep doing ultrasounds on you. They have to make sure that if you do have cysts, that they monitor them to see if they're growing,
