I was dianosed with PCOS by my OB (due to irrecgular periods) when I was 20, and since my first pregnancy at 25 ( went into preclampcia during pregnancy and they had to deliver), I have had high blood pressure and low insulin spells. My family doctor said I was somewhat hypergycimic (low blood sugar) and has stage one hypertension (high blood pressure) along with tackcardia (fast heart beat)... she suggested losing a couple of pounds, (I am only about 20 pounds over weight), and put me on blood pressure pills.
I recently had surgery and they did a EKG, which came out abnormal and I was sent to a cardilogist. He did a check-up and put me on a differnt blood pressure pill too, with out checking into the cause of the high blood pressure...
My question is, from what I read the High BP and the Low Blood Sugar are all related to PCOS, how do I get the doctors to make the connections??? My OB, just send my back for ultrasounds of my ovary, showing I have cysts all the time, my family doctor doesn't seem to even know what PCOS is, and the cardiologist didn't seem to care? Is there a PCOS doctor out there? I live north of Pittsburgh PA...
