cyst on ovaries, abdom pain, enlarged liver

I went to the doctor less than a week ago because of passing a small amount of blood.  I went because I assumed the symptoms I had meant i had a UTI and that it was getting worse/going to my kidneys.  At the doctor they did a UA and it showed I was dehydrated and that my urine was full of blood.  No kidney/bladder infection.  My doctor listened to my symptoms and told me it sounded like a kidney stone and sent me for a cat scan and prescribed a pain pill, antibotic and urilast.  The next day they called with results.  The fluid showed a kidney stone had been there but they couldn't find it anywhere so they assumed i had passed the stones.  What they did find was that my liver was enlarged and cysts on my ovaries.  Friday (2 days after the original appt) i had an ultrasound.  My pain is continuing those easing up with rx's.  Today is Monday and I got the results for my ultrasound.  I was positive for fluid cysts 2.8x2.3x2.9, my doctor suggested i call my gyno to schedule to have the cysts drained.  I has a hyster in July 08 and my ovaries where fine then.  I finally got a call back after leaving voice mail messages and the nurse said it was probably not a big deal and that 5 inches would be more to worry about.  She said they would look at the report and call me if i needed to be seen.  I wonder if i should do something else to get heard.  I have a high pain tolerance and am about to the end of my rope.  The ER is my next option.

This is really unacceptable with our medical field now. Something g needs to be done about this. We do not live in a third world country. I own my own business and pay out the *** for  private  insurance, with a huge deductible. Have been sick 3 years with the crappiest care.  I can afford the best and its still crap. It's a outrage. I feel for you. I too have constant abdominal pain and have been to several specialists. No one ever helps me and they treat me like I'm crazy. The gyno found lots of ovarian cysts and the vaginal ultra sound was painful as he'll, and the CT scan showed a slightly enlarged liver and spleen, but no one can tell me what the hell this means, so I live in constant pain, craving relief. I have really bad night sweats and always want to sleep. I always knew I wasn't the only person in the world who could feel this way. I hope that you can find relief.

this sounds very familiar...i believe i started with a uti bout 6-7 weeks ago...i was on antibiotics at the time..and never went to the doctors for it..after my round of treatment was over, i started with lower back pain on both sides..i went to the doctors with this symptom as well as abdominal discomfort..a bloated full feeling and problems with urination... he sent me for bloodwork thinking it was a bladder/kidney infection..bloodwork came back negative for infection..but there was blood in my urine.. doctor sent me to er for ct scan thinking kidney stones..ct scan showed several stones(but not explanation for discomfort) as well as an enlarged liver and fluid around the liver..i believe i passed a/some stones during this time because urination problems seemed to have gone away...i have seen several specialists(a urologist, and a gi specializing in the liver)..had another ct scan done (with contrast) and found out i had a liver cyst, kidney cysts and ovarian cysts..i have a cystoscopy and  an endoscopy scheduled and intend to see my gynocologist as well..my back became worse..moving up to middle back..but i now know my limitations and have it mostly under control...knock on wood..lol..my belly is still uncomfortable...bloated and full...i cant suck it in at all and i have a cramping feeling and pain on both lower sides now as well..i had my tubes tied two and a half years ago...dont know if that is relative..but have been having irregular periods recently.....i was having fainting spells several months back and had gone to the ob/gyn with the complaint of milky discharge from my breasts...i dont know if these things are related but i am trying to find out what is going on..and i seem to be getting nowhere..i now feel like i am getting a uti again..why cant i plug myself in to a diagnostic tool like a car...

i would like to warn all of you of something i have noticed in the medical field..the total lack of anything close to adequate patient care..the er told me i had kidney stones but did not mention my liver problems(although it was clearly stated on paper that was sent home with me)i had my test results from ct scan sent to several different specialists and when each one called me with the test results they only told me what was thier particular speciality..the liver doctor had told me about the liver cysts but didnt mention the kidney and ovarian cysts or anything else not related to his field..the urologist told me about the kidney stones but did not mention anything else..i literally asked him are you not telling me about the liver cyst because thats not your speciality..he actually said yeah, basically...and only when i had the test results sent to me was when i found out about the kidney and ovarian cysts as well as free fluid in pelvis among other things...please please please, keep on top of your own medical tests, history, etc..do not expect the doctors to care or have your best interests at heart..i am not going to quack doctors...these are doctors affiliated with a major hospital with a good reputation...i can not believe this goes on..
