Hi la_som
If you've taken a home pregnancy test and get two lines (or a plus sign depending on the brand and type of test), you assume this means you are pregnant. After all, home pregnancy tests claim an accuracy rate of over 99%. However, if you've spent any time on any parenting or pregnancy website, you've likely seen someone claiming to have a positive test only to find out later it was a false positive. How can this both be true, a 99% accuracy rate and yet women claiming to have a false positive. There are several reasons why a woman may obtain a positive result on an a home pregnancy test when she is not actually pregnant.
If you have both lines showing, yes. You take the test with one line showing, then the second appears and it means you're pregnant. You should go to the doctor to confirm.
