ovarian drilling

Has anyone had ovarian drilling? Did it help you ovulate or get pregnant?  I think this is my last option and would love to here from women who have gone through it.

hi,

women on clomid have a higher chance of mulitple babies...

i wish you every sucess keep me posted x

that's encouraging to know that it helped with your second child.  A co-worker of mine had the procedure 2 years ago and she conceived on her second cycle with twins.  I am hopefull, the reason i asked about your levels was that mine are normal and always have been I just have a lot of cysts and no period without medication.

hi there.... yes i had had many rounds of clomid etc which didnt work... my ovaries were very enlarged too i cannot remember the scale or the amount of drilling as it was 5 years ago nearly.
i have no doubt the surgery aided me not so much in the first pregnancy as i was already unaware of being pregnant at time of op but i have no doubt it helped second time...

As for the levels of test etc i cannot remember to be honest

Thanks but i'm now 7 days post-op and yes it was very painfull.  my problem is that I had almost 100 cysts and my ovaries were enlarged so i never would mature a follice.  so after five rounds of clomid and metformin without ovulating we moved on to surgery.  I know it seems like a leep but because of my personal history with a breast mass my oncologist will not let me take injectables so the drilling really is my last option.  That's amazing that you got pregnant without meds even! do you know if your testosterone and insulin were elevated before you became pregnant?

Hi everyone

i had been trying to concieve for 4 years and i was told id never have children... then my specialist did a drilling now 5 years ago just over... 3 weeks after i found out i was 6 weeks pregnant so was infact 3 weeks preg at time of drilling... despite being told i couldnt concieve... and while being on no meds at all... i had a heathly daughter now 4.5 years and i then went on to have a son now 2.5 years... i was never told the drilling only last 2 years though.. i want to eventually have another child... but if im not blessed with one i already exceeded the odds and had children... the op is rather uncomfortable after and i still have the scars but its worth the try to have a child... my advice is try not to over try to concieve... it worked for me... i hope this helps

It's a laproscopic surgery where they cauterize your cysts.  It's suppose to get rid of my cysts and help me ovulate.  the downfall is that it is not permanent it only lasts a few years, my husband and I have been ttc for 3 years now so hopefully this helps.
