period 14days and still going

I am 32 and have 2 kids(last kid born 18months ago). My periods have been pretty regular until now. This period started light and has continued on. I am on day 14 and there seems to be no end in sight. Bleeding is very light and is bright red, not dark in color like normal menses. I am having some mild cramping. When I walk a lot or am slightly active I start experiencing sharp pain in my lower right abdomen( around where my ovary would be). I also am very tired all time.
I have called my doctor twice this week but they cannot get me in any sooner than next week. I am getting worried.
Is this something I should be concerned about?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks msniki412 for your help. I did have cyst on my ovaries when I was a teenager. They were very painful but eventually went away after several months. I had my doctors do some test a few months ago on my hormones and thyroid because I was getting a lot of dark facial hair after my last child. But everything came back normal.
I do have a blood clotting disorder called MTHFR (Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase). But it only causes me to take more folic and B vitamins. I do not have any other symptoms that I can think of.

This happened to me. I remember those sharp pains and I know when I got those pains...I would bleed a bit more. It could possibly be PCOS. Do you have any history of cysts or endometious or fibroids? Could also be your thyroid too...with being tired allot. Try to avoid any meds like Midol or Pamprin as those can cause more bleeding. Stick it out for the week...write done some questions for your doctor and go. Suggest an ultrasound to rule out any cysts. If the ultrasound comes back normal...try getting in for bloodwork. Check hormones levels, sugar levels and your thyroid. Any other symptoms? Weight gain/loss?
