i was wondering if you can get pregnant having PCOS and not taking anything for the PCOS.  It is probably slim to none.

From what I have read you are right, the chances are very slim. I recently found out that I have PCOS after 10 months of trying. I would definitely see your doc or specialist and maybe they can better further assist you on the next step you need to take to help it along.

Hi with PCOS the chances aren't neccessarily slim...it's just going to be a lot more work than just having a little fun with the DH/BF or SS, you just have to work at it. I suggest as well that you see a Reproductive Endocrinoloist and have them get you on a plan asap. so that by this time next year you'll be hearing the pitterpatter of little feet. Good Luck and don't give up hope just yet. Just be prepared for a lot of Doctor visits, and a few drugs and a lot of waiting but you'll get through it! Good Luck Dear and I wish you the best, also I wouldn't give up on trying naturally heck no one knows what the body is capable of doing. Sticky Baby Dust!

I don't think the chances are always slim.  My mother had very cystic ovaries and had 3 children (including one after a tubal ligation!) with no trouble at all.  It just depends on what factors are coming into play at any given moment.

hi there, i was diagnosed with PCOS in 2007 after trying to conceive for 3yrs. I was referred to an Encronologist whom then referred me to a fertility clinic. I did IVF and had a successful pregnancy 1st try. Now i have a beautiful baby boy who is almost 1yr old. never give up, where theres a will theres a way.

I have PCOS and became pregnant without any medication.
But it resulted in a miscarriage after 6 weeks bec my progesterone levels went low.

Some women with PCOS do ovulate on their own in some cycles.

If I ovulate, then I get my cycles normally on date but if I dont ovulate a month , then my cycles are late.

Chances of conception is low if u ovulated just 2 or  3 times a yr compared to a women who ovulates every month. So while TTC doctor puts u on clomid just to make sure u ovulate every month and hence increase the chances of conception.

Also my doctor told me that women with PCOS may have low quality egg and clomid helps in improving it.

Hope this helps.

I've heard of people with pcos getting pregnant with no medical help just by dieting and exercise.  It would take a lot of time and dedication though and I just don't have the patience for that alone.  That is also not guaranteed.  I have was diagnosed with pcos and I weighed only 130lbs.  I'm not sure how accurate that is...and it may only work for some people.

I have known about my PCOS since I was a tween.  I was told chances of me getting pregnant were close to impossible.  My boyfriend at the time and I were having unprotected sex for years.  We didn't ever worry about pregnancy.  At the time I was only having 1 to 2periods a  year (now I have periods LASTING 1 to 3 years at a time).

I got pregnant.  I had an easy pregnancy and my son is a healthy growing 7 year old.

Anything is possible. :)
