should i just have it removed?

by ALS212, Apr 17, 2009 05:39AM
I´ve had Cysts on my ovaries on and of for the last 6 years.  I now have one on my right ovary which has been there for since last summer, which causes some pain now and again.  Ive been back and forward to my gyno and she has changed my pill 3 times to see if that would help. my periods are regular but don´t last very long and aren´t very heavy at all.  I last saw my gyno last september and she told me that the cyst was quite big and to be careful when i exercise as this could make to cyst twist. She then said that she will see me next september so i thought that the cyst can´t be that bad.
Ive been getting sharp pains that come and go on my right side but a pain that seems to be there all the time.  It´s uncomfortble when i lay on my side or tummy, and sometimes it´s uncomfortable when i go to the toilet.
i don´t know if i should just go back to my gyno, but she didn´t seem to worried about it last september and i don´t want to seem silly!
I would like to try for a baby next year but im still on the pill to try and sort the cyst out and if i still have cysts won´t it be a problem to concieve or harmfull to the baby?
Should  i see if i could just have it removed?

Please give me some advice,im feeling very low and having moodswings, What can i do?????

Hi. I think that you should talk to your doctor, because your health is the most important and you shouldn't feel silly! Nothing is silly when we have pains and we want to find out what's going on with our health. It's better to know if there is a problem and not to wait untill it gets serious (I hope that you woun't have any problems!). Doctors have thousands of patiens, that is their job and they don't worry about our health as much as we (should) worry about our own health. So, it's better to know as much earlier as you can if there is any problem. And if there isn't, you will feel relief, knowing that everything is ok and that there is nothing that you should be worried about. That's my advise.
I think that if you have cysts it's not harmfull to the baby, if there aren't any complications. And pregnancy is good for the cysts, because in some cases after that they are gone at least for a few years. So, talk to your doctor and then you will know what's going on and what should be your next step.
I wish you all the best! Good health and a baby next year! :-)
