Prayer

It's good to see some of these Christian groups still active here on MH. I have been away for a long time.

I've had a difficult time the last few years, in particular the last year or so. Lots of personal things, death in the family, financial hardships, marital struggles, etc. I have some in my family who have turned their backs on God and it makes me so sad, but I know the struggle of trying to hold on to your faith when so many bad things happen and you don't seem to hear from God. Sometimes it can just be hard to hold on or see anything good.

I think we all need to pray for each other and support each other because we just can't do it alone. We all need hope and healing and to hear from God. I know I sure do. I pray each one who visits here will receive from God what their hearts so desperately need. And I pray our faith grows stronger and we don't give up hope.

"Where two or more are gathered in His name, there He is among us." Mathew 18:20

Hi April.
In no way did I feel offended-it takes a lot for me to get offended, lol!
but I just needed some clarity, so in turn I may feel free and confident
that I'm not going to encounter "church and religion" politics here.
Our time and energy, is best left to use it to do God's work
and fulfill our Divine purpose.
So, no need to apologize, but apology accepted nevertheless.

And since Kimberly spoke of  Miracles here's
Today's Lesson  #49 in a Course in Miracles:
              Lesson 49
God's Voice speaks to me all through the day.

"It is quite possible to listen to God's Voice all through the day without interrupting your regular activities in any way. The part of your mind in which truth abides is in constant communication with God, whether you are aware of it or not. It is the other part of your mind that functions in the world and obeys the world's laws. It is this part that is constantly distracted, disorganized and highly uncertain.

The part that is listening to the Voice for God is calm, always at rest and wholly certain. It is really the only part there is. The other part is a wild illusion, frantic and distraught, but without reality of any kind. Try today not to listen to it. Try to identify with the part of your mind where stillness and peace reign forever. Try to hear God's Voice call to you lovingly, reminding you that your Creator has not forgotten His Son.

We will need at least four five-minute practice periods today, and more if possible. We will try actually to hear God's Voice reminding you of Him and of your Self. We will approach this happiest and holiest of thoughts with confidence, knowing that in doing so we are joining our will with the Will of God. He wants you to hear His Voice. He gave It to you to be heard.

Listen in deep silence. Be very still and open your mind. Go past all the raucous shrieks and sick imaginings that cover your real thoughts and obscure your eternal link with God. Sink deep into the peace that waits for you beyond the frantic, riotous thoughts and sights and sounds of this insane world. You do not live here. We are trying to reach your real home. We are trying to reach the place where you are truly welcome. We are trying to reach God.

Do not forget to repeat today's idea very frequently. Do so with your eyes open when necessary, but closed when possible. And be sure to sit quietly and repeat the idea for today whenever you can, closing your eyes on the world, and realizing that you are inviting God's Voice to speak to you."

Blessings,
Niko

I in no way meant to offend anyone on here at all and if that happened then I am certainly sorry. It's been awhile since I've been on medhelp and I just remembered this was one of the groups I used to go to along with some of the other Christian groups. Sorry if there was any confusion.
Of course all are welcome here and certainly on any of the groups on medhelp.
I wish the very best for all of us and hope all our prayers are answered and that God meets each one of us at our greatest needs.
Peace and blessings.

Hello April glad to see you back,

Anyone who believes in the power of prayer should be part of this forum so we can stand together in agreement. But I also pray those who aren't Christians will come and pray with us. I pray anyone in need of a miracle or some hope in life even if they aren't believers in anything should come and ask for help. True Christian love is agape which means unconditional. So we are called on to live everyone unconditionally.

The power of prayer in general is an amazing thing. I know of many who were healed and I believe the power of two or more standing in agreement had alot to do with this. The Lord is great and never forsakes us all we have to do is cry out.

Today in church I learned the power of true faith and continuous prayer. There is a story in the bible that tells of a woman who cried out for help from Jesus. He didn't say a word and when she tried a few more times Jesus called her a little dog. But her faith held strong and she told him that even a dog can eat from the scraps of the masters table. Then Jesus said your faith is strong and healed her daughter.

The bishop related this story to those who pray and pray and pray but never feel heard. He said we should never give up, that God has agape for us. Well I am here if you ever need a special prayer just PM me. May God be with you and your family I am praying for you,
Kimberly

Hi April. Welcome back!
I'm fairly new here, and I didn't think that this is a Prayer Group for Christians only.
Does it mean that one may not be welcome, if one believes in God, but is not a practicing Christian, not a Church goer and not active in a Christian Church.
Do  Prayers have any less effectiveness, even if one has Faith in the Divine, even if Unconditional Love for God and all of His Creation, is one's guiding force?

I have friends from other Faiths, so I would feel uneasy, to mention to them  this group, if it's not open to all. To me Unconditional Love is the ultimate criterion, so universal acceptance is automatic, no question.
If a Muslim/Buddhist Brother or Sister needs our prayers, what happens?
My answer is naturally: Of course, we pray for them!
Please, forgive my ignorance, but it is important for me to know.

As far as your own challenges go April, you are only accountable for your own actions, not to others but to yourself and ultimately to God.
When we turn our backs on God, we really turn our backs on ourselves.
You see, our Creator Loves us and of course Wants us to do Good,
but He has No Need for Anything from us.
Whatever we do, at the end, we do it for us, not for God!

Struggles are only manifestations of ego driven life, whether it has to do with politics, economy, material possessions, hardships etc.
When living a Spirit-driven Life, these struggles diminish, as less power and importance is given to them. Even death from a truly Spiritual perspective
is just a transition to another life form, one totally free of physical limitations, where only Bliss, Love and Light exist.

You will be blessed with a great life, when you come to fully realize that we are all created in the Image of God, therefore look within and NOT without
for All the answers you are looking for.
God Resides Anywhere and Everywhere, but what matters to us the most,
is that He also Resides Within us! And this is very Empowering.
May God Bless you!
Niko
