Managing toddlers

I know there's just a couple of us right now, and I hope that this group will grow, but in the meantime, I'm hoping to get advice about how you're dealing with the toddler years.  We all have toddlers so I'm assuming we're all up against the same thing.  

My little guy is a good boy most of the time, but sometimes I'm just so tired it gets hard to manage his behaviours.  I'm finding that we're watching quite a bit of tv on those days.  My girlfriend who's much younger seems better equipped at dealing with all of the emotions.  Maybe it's just me.  I used to have major patience; I'm sure the pregnancy doesn't help!
