How to TTC without a period (lactational amenorrhea)

We are currently NTNP as my son is approx 5 months. I still don't have a period yet and we are NTNP. I want to try in a few months without going straight to Clomid and Progesterone (it's what I was on prior to conceiving. I had to wean my daughter to take it). How accurate are BBTs and charting CM while breastfeeding?

BBT's and natural planning for fertility are not that effective when you're breast-feeding because you are not likely ovulating regularly. Just enjoy this year of bonding with your baby and breast-feeding, also enjoy sex with your partner without stressing about keeping track. Focus on your own health, Maintaining a good exercise routine a healthy diet and continuing to take prenatal vitamins with folic acid. Most women start to ovulate when they're no longer nursing exclusively- usually after six or eight months when they're adding some solid foods to the babies diet.
