TTC and Tuna

My husband and I are currently trying to conceive. Over the last five days, I ate 2 cans of white albacore tuna (about 10 ounces). I just read a few minutes ago that white albacore has a high level of mercury in it, and you should not eat more than 6 ounces a week. It said that mercury can build up in your body and that you shouldn't eat white albacore if you are trying to get pregnant. I very rarely eat tuna (it has been several months since I have even eaten any type of fish including tuna). If I hardly ever eat it, is it a big deal? Has anyone else been in this situation or heard anything? Should I be concerned that it will affect my future baby?? Thanks!!

I'm pretty sure you'd have to eat two cans a day for weeks on end to have a real problem. Check out the book "Expecting Better" by Emily Oster if you want to get a better idea of the actual data behind safety concerns while pregnant.
