My brother told me there is no perfect time to plan for baby. It happens when it happens. With my first we got prego right away (my brother and his wife the same) with my second we tried for a year, had scheduled to see a fertility specialist, we got pregnant before the appointment was made. :-) with the 3rd I got pregnant right away!!!! The two youngest will be 19 months apart :-0.  So start trying when your "ready" because there are so many things that come into play. You can download apps that let you know when your ovulating which is the best times to have sex. One friend tried for two years before becoming prego. Another for 4 yrs (she was on fertility treatments +) she now has 2 little boys.

It took me 4 months to fall pregnant so I'm afraid you can't control these things. It will happen when your body is ready.

I would just start trying as soon as you want.  You never know how long it will take to get pregnant.  With my first, it took about a year and a half and this time about  a year.  My first was born in August, in Florida. It was hot and I was uncomfortable, but it really doesn't matter.  You will be uncomfortable anyway. This time I am due in April, and my pregnancy has actually been a lot more difficult.
