10 weeks pregnant and spotting

Hello.  I'm 10 weeks pregnant today and have a pretty problem free pregnancy so far.  I've had 2 miscarriages before and this pregnancy is nothing like those.  During the first 9 weeks of pregnancy, my doctor had me get my HcG and progesterone levels tested twice a week to monitor them.  And, she put me on progesterone suppositories just to ensure they stay up.  They have both been increasing beautifully according to my doctor.  The last time it was checked, my HCG was well over 100,000 and my progesterone was 28.4.  I've had an ultrasound and saw the bean with it's heart beating and last week, at the doctor got to hear the heartbeat with the doppler thing.  So, needless to say, my doctor said everything is fine and I have a promising pregnancy.  I also had a pap done last week at the doctor (it's routine) and she said i can expect some spotting b/c the cervix is so sensitive right now.  I didn't spot and I haven't spotted this entire time.  This morning, I woke up with a brown spot on my panty liner.  I paniced.  I called my sister and she said as long as it's brown and not red and doesn't get heavier, I should be fine.  And that brown spotting is 100% normal and is only old blood.  Also, she said since I was pretty active last night (I had some kind of burst of energy to clean my house; weird) that any spotting I may have had from the pap smear is probably what came out this morning.  Have any of you experienced this type of spotting?  I'm very nervous b/c of having 2 other miscarriages.

I'm back!  finally.  Everything is perfect!!!!!!  According to the ultrasound, i'm a week further along.....now I'm 11 weeks and my due date is now November 26th.  I wonder how many more times that date will change????  The little baby was moving all over the place!  It was so wonderful to see!

I compltely understand.....with my first pregnancy..i started spotting brown...then it turned to red and I miscarried at 6 weeks. When  i got pregnant again....i started spotting again brown..and a bit of red..and thought..here we go again......but my pregnancy was fine after that.....
some women bleed for the entire pregnancies..others spiratically...

just keep your doctor informed and take it easyy!!

good luck to you with the rest of your pregnancy...sounds to me like this was prob just from your pap....and brown blood is old blood!

Thanks!  I'm feeling a lot more calm about it.  It's so scary to see, though.  And shocking.

I agree with your sister.  Just take it easy now and rest a little.  Brown spotting is ok.  If it continues call your doc.  I had a girlfriend who bled with every pregnancy.  It's weird but it happens.  Good luck and congrats!
