11 EEEKS WITH SWOLLEN LEGS! HELP!

I'm worried about this so please help.  Both of my legs are swollen to my knees.  My husband rubbed my feet for me last night an he said that he felt like water under my skin.  That how swollen they are.  I'm only 11 weeks.  Has any one had this happen?  I cut salt out of my diet an it just got worse.  My dr. is a hour away.    I go for my first ultra sound this Friday.  Please Help!

My prenantals may have it then.  I take 2 pills a day.  One is white an the other is a gel pill.  I think that the heat here is Louisiana is a BIG part of the problem.  It dose not hurt at all.  Just swollen.  I had spotting with both of my last pregnancys an I misscarried.  I have not had any this time.  The dr said that your heart beats harder when your pregnant.  An because I'm not skinny thats just my bodys reaction to my heart working harder.

Well now most OB/Gyns are recommending taking Omega 3 (which is all fish oil) along with your pre-natal vitamins.  And some prescribed prenatals have Omega 3 in them.  Just ask your doctor for the dosage.  The good thing about Omega 3 is that it is fish oil without having to eat fish which could have mercury.  The mercury is not present in the Omega 3.

i had that amount of swelling with my last pregnancy at about 4 weeks. in my legs and feet and one morning i wolk up my hands where so swollen that my rings where cutting off cirulation and i had never had this before, so i can understand why your worried. tho my swelling did subside in a few days. i dont know if it was normal or not because that pregnancy ended up with a miscarriage. and if the drs. said your fine, im sure you are. also, i have heard that omega 3 isnt good for pregnant woman, tho im not sure how true this is cuz i read it on the internet. so be sure to cheak with your gyn on that one since your high risk!

Will Omega 3 harm the baby?  I'm high risk so would I need to talk to me OB about it first?  I'm a nanny so its hard to relax most days.  LOL.  ( Ages 2,3,an 5.)  I go for my first ultra sound tomorrow!  I will post pics so ya'll can see.  Thank for the replys.  Anita DeVall

try taking Omega 3 capsules, the fish oil in them really helps with inflamation and its good to take along with your prenatal vitamins.  It also seems that you are retaining water.  Try to limit the ammount of salt that you consume and drink lots of water to flush out your system and help with your circulation.  Like LauraB said, put your legs up and relax.  Exercise will just make you swell up more because of heat and inflamation.

If you have medicaid, I say go to the ER..

You arent bothering me, I just wanted to explain that sometimes you wont get a response to a post for a couple hours..

I also dont think trying to exercise if your legs are THAT swollen is a good idea..

Good luck and keep us posted,

I don't freak out... I'm just not able to check my messages all through the day.  I'm just inpatient. lol  .  I think I'm just going to go to the ER today some time.  I even tried to walk on my elliptical.  An it just got worse.  I have lost 2 pregnancy's, 3 babies, already.  I'm just afraid of loosing this one too.  I don't mean to "bother" you.  I'm not freaking out... just very concerned about it.  I have medicaid.

First I wanted to mention that every time you post, you freak out if no one immediately responds.. I just wanted to let you know that there are times (especially during the mid-day mid week) that there are "lulls" and no-one is online.. So just be patient and someone will get back to you as soon as they can..

Second, I would personally go to the ER.. If your legs are truly swollen up to your knees, I would imagine you are likely having difficulty moving around and that IS cause for concern. Do you have insurace? If so, and you can afford to, I would recommend going to the ER. OR if it isnt that bad, maybe elevate your legs and call your doctor in the morning if the problem persists. I would make sure you drink a ton of water and try and relax. I hope you feel better soon!

It was only the top of my foot last week.  Now they are both swollen to my knees.  I called an they said for me to call if it gets worse.  But its a hours drive the then a hour back.  Do you think I should just go to the local er?

Didn't you have swelling last week that you were going to ask your doctor about? You should make a Dr. Appt. That much swelling isn't normal and you are clearly panicky, do call your Dr.. That's what he'es/she's there for! And 30 minutes away isn't so bad! =)

Good luck
