I agree with the other mommy's to be...I wouldn't worry. The baby is way to small to be felt through the belly right now at that stage. Also I wouldn't worry about the heart beat...most doctors measure it on the ultrasound instead of the doppler. My doctor actually doesn't even mess with the heart beat until after 20wks...that is when he check all the valves in the heart and starts using a doppler to measure the heart beat! Every doctor is different in how they do things. Always ask if something seems weird to you or you are concerned. They will understand you asking....plus if your a first time mommy you have a right to ask all the little question that may to someone who has already been through a pregnancy seem stupid....it's not though so don't feel like you are bothering anyone by asking....you won't know like experienced moomys unless you ask!

Best of luck dear...and keep us posted!

There's no way he could feel the baby yet. Your uterus should just now be making its way above your pelvis. As far as hearing the heartbeat, I wouldn't worry over that either. If they tried doing it with a Doppler, they aren't that great at finding a heartbeat sometimes. They moved it everywhere on me at 11 weeks and couldn't find or hear the heartbeat, so I went for a sono and the heart was just flickering away :)

I heard my baby's heartbeat at 10 weeks. Sounds like the timing could be off. The ultrasound should give you peace of mind. You're in my thoughts!

All you can do is wait for the ultrasound. At 12 weeks you would be able to hear the heartbeat, but if you've not had an ultrasound yet then it could just be difficult to know where baby is.

Try not to worry too much, easier said than done i know, it could be possible your dates are off,or the position of the placenta and the baby,so try keep positive til your ultra sound . Hope everything is ok..
