2 flinstone vitamins while pregnant, isnt that too much iron??? and vitamin A?

People and doctors have said to take 2 flinstone vitamins a day or at once instead of taking prenatal vitamins (for those who have problems taking them) I was wondering, would that be too much iron on top of 1 or 2 bowels of cereal that are full of nutrients and other meats i might eat? They say its safe. But 2 flinstones are 30mg of Iron 5,000IU vitamin A ect.. Is that safe? My mother said not all the vitamins absorb. It does have beta carotene which i hear aids in absorbing the amount of vitamins you need. Im just afraid to take 2 and then eat meats and or ceral on top of that. I know Vitamin A is not good for the baby. Please help me with some adive. Thanks... ive been searching and cant find the answers im looking for.

I hate the prenatal i get so much discharge and Y.I. my sister in-law told me about Flintstones  I love those! I work in the medical field for rx drugs u have to limit the amount of doses per 24 hr my husband was scared of the iron being too much but i need the folic I've read all these comments and now I feel safe I take 2 Flintstones per 24 hrs but i split it into 1 every 12 hours that way nothings is too much and just enough

Oh also, theres quite a few of them. Including the multi vitamin but i chose not to because of the pheku something..... i cant remmeber the name but its in most gum and bad for the baby in large doses. But Make sure if you switch like me, look for the one with iron and check to make sure it had folic in it. Yes they do taste good and dont hurt my stomach.

Theres 300 MG of folic acid in one. I think you need at least 400 mg for a pregnant women. They prefer 600 or 800. You just have to read the back and pick one thats has most of the vitamins you need. Im taking 2 cause one isnt enough for me and the baby. Thanks for the advice!

how are you getting your folic acid then? cause i love those chewables and would quickly switch if there was folic acid in there somehow.

30mg of Iron isn't too much.  After my last blood draw they found that I was a little anemic and wanted me to take additional iron pills.  My prenatals contain 27mg per serving, the plain iron supplements contain 247mg and they told me to take 2!!!
