So im finally 21 weeks pregnant and for the past month i would say when i have sex with my fiance it hurts/burns afterwards. Therefore i've pretty much stopped having sex with him because of it. I just wanted to know if any of ladies have had this problem or not. I would talk to my doctor about this but hes an old man (great doctor) but he kinda reminds me of a grand father figure so you can kinda understand why i dont really wanna talk to him about it. I understand that he could help, but my fiance is fine with not having sex until after the baby so its not that big of a deal but i was just wondering if anybody else had this problem! Thanks girls, i hope your pregnancies are going well!!!!!
I'm so sorry about your pain. I have Vulvar Vestibulitis, so I have burning pain with sex almost every time. It's REALLY tough to deal with sometimes. But yes, it's even worse during pregnancy (this is my third), even to the point that I have burning when I wipe after peeing.
I'm glad you've decided to forego intercourse for now. There is a cycle of pain that happens when women just try to ignore it or get through it. So hopefully in the long run, this will be a better way to go, though I know it's hard for both of you.
One of the things that's helped my husband and me the most is just accepting that we won't be having actual sex right now, but we can have oral and manual stimulation. It may actually free you up sexually!;) Don't feel guilty about not giving him sex--it's not your fault. Just assure him you still WANT him sexually and he still turns you on. For us, it's become a reality that we "love each other in sickness and in health"--this condition is a sickness (not saying you have what I have necessarily, but the pain in general).
Let me know if you want more info on the condition. But hopefully your problem will go away after the baby comes.
Thanks ladies. I feel as though it will go away after the baby comes. Because at first when i was pregnant i didnt have this, then i just developed it. Thankfully i do have an amazing fiance that doesnt care and completely understands. To the point that he asks me every second "are you ok, are you ok?" haha and yes we do pleasure each other in other ways. Which is fine for now.
good luck and that does sometimes happen when you are pregnant but you are also more prone to uti's according to my doc, and that's what i was told when i had that burning after sex. he gave me some antibotics and after about a week, it was fine. so maybe you should ask your doc.
ill be 33wks tomorrow and i also have the burning feeling after sex and i also have pinkish stuff afterward i have asked my doc about it and no uti he just says it sometimes happens when pregnant so i also am holding off on real sex just oral sex and so on but not real.lol and like your fiance my husband doesnt mind it he rather wait it out and for me not to be hurt. so i wouldnt worry about it to much.
kelliestarr lucky you! and to betty12 thats so much what i figured. ive had a uti before and this isnt what it feels like. Well i guess then i will just hold off till our little man gets here and then we will do it again! im just glad B doesnt mind!
