It depends on your provider. Some just ignore them but my midwife encourages it. She said it's not so much that things always go add planned but because it makes her patients more mindful of what kind of birth they want. Discuss it with your doctor and figure out what you want from your birthing experience. Birth is beautiful.

Like a birth plan? There are samples in a lot of pregnancy books and online. Just Google fill in the blank birth plans.
