36 weeks, Dilated 1cm, Baby waaayyyy low

Hello you lovely mommies out there!
So.. I went to the hospital this past Monday due to contractions & when she was checking my cervix.. She was having trouble getting to it due to my baby girl being so low.. she said that she thought I was at 1cm but she couldn't really tell... It felt like she was trying to reach my heart or something. She was having to go around her to get to my cervix?? I thought the cervix was right there and that you could get to it before feeling the baby? It hurt so bad when she was checking me.. which that never really happens.. not that bad at least..
Has this happened to anyone?

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one experiencing this! Lol It makes me not as freaked out about it. I'm just wondering how labour is going to be if she can't just come straight down and her head is lower than my cervix. ._.
Hopefully I can get some more answers Monday.. if I don't go into labour by then. They are expecting me to go any day now.

Hmm.. that's good to hear.
At the hospital they just seemed to be a little worried/confused about it. More about how she couldn't exactly tell how far dilated I was though. The way she was trying to explain it made me think that my baby was pushing against my cervix and that was why she couldn't really tell.

My doctor said the same thing. She said she had to go under babies head to get to my cervix. I'm 3cm. They don't seem worried

I have heard about this and I have been going to a specialist every two weeks to have an ultrasound done but they always say that it is in the front and where it should be so I know that isn't it. I'm just so confused about it and I can't see my ob until Monday at my next appointment. They will be checking my cervix again..

The only thing I can think of is you might have "low lying placenta " which from my understanding is that it blocks your cervix from your vag , im not sure if im right but thats what I think, idk lol google low lying placenta

Yes. I'm positive. That's all they have talked about for the last few weeks.. How low she is. She said that she was so low that my cervix were actually behind my baby girl. She is lower than just "dropped" If my water were to break.. she would probably be here in minutes.

If shes super low then getting checked wouldve been super easy and not as painful. You sure that's what she said?
