I had my 1st son at 36 weeks 4 days. My doctor considered him premature but he was born perfectly healthy at 6lbs 2 oz. He was just a little jaundice. But I do recommend letting your baby stay in your belly a little longer.

This isn't directed at anyone because I didn't read most of the previous posts. Some women have babies early whether they prompted it or not & will tell you they or their baby was/is healthy. However, some of these "healthy" babies are the ones with behavior, mental, and/or emotional disorders so I say why risk it?

36 weeks is premature... And not all babies born at 36 weeks are "fine"... My niece was born at 36 weeks and was in the NICU for 5 weeks and had no indications of health issues before birth

I beg both of yours pardon ^^. It does not make an individial childish for supplying facts regarding success rate for babies born 36wks+. And at what point did I tell her go ahead? She asked if it was too early for labor and I supplied facts. There is 0% reason for either of you to pop off and insult because some of us managed to put aside personal feelings and hormones to give an upfront answer. Thats very rude.

Finally someone that disagrees as.well with everypne telling her to go ahead and do it, I say dont do it Your baby still has to grow more she/he will Come when ready its not easy having to see your baby in the nicu in an incubator with cables my mom went through that with my brother and I know a friend that did to she cried daily seeing her baby girl in the nicu because she was born at 23 weeks. Please do think about your baby I can assure you most of us are going crazy to meet our babies but let it come naturally or atleast wait until your full term. I was one that wanted my daughter.here early but the more I thought about it the more.selfish I felt for trying to rush something that happens naturally I accepted she'll come when ready.

To those telling this lady its fine to have her baby now - have any of you had a premature child ?

Because I have.  At 33weeks.

yes your 36week is physically fully formed but the lungs and brain are still maturing.
The baby would have a fantastic change of survival if born now but also may need nicu or scbu - where although they are fantastic babies can pick up infection or get very sick.
nicu is a sad place not somewhere you want to be.

Also bonding those first moments are lost.

If you go into labour yourself it can be tough but ok but don't "trigger" labour using remedies etc because if anything goes wrong you'll be devastated.

And please don't listen to sensless kids either

Eh, it's not necessarily "too early". Every women and baby is different. Chances are if you had your baby right now there wouldn't be any major health problems but the longer your baby bakes, the better! I wouldn't do anything extreme to kick start labor, just walking and having sex will help speed up the process a little bit and make labor easier. I'm 37 weeks 3 days, so I know how you're feeling. Just hang in there lil mama, your baby will be here in no time :)**

Full term depending on doc is with 37 or 39 weeks. If you are having no signs of problems and you have had a normal pregnancy this far there is nothing wrong with trying to help labor... You are not going to go on one walk and have the baby or engage in nipple stimulation and go into labor... It is a process so while 36 weeks IS a bit early there is nothing wrong with using natural methods of induction such as birthing ball exercises, walking, nipple stim, or sex... These will all help with effacement and dialation. Don't over do it tho to Mich of something could put you an baby in danger.

My doctor said that full term is technically considered 37 weeks, not 39. Usually by 34 weeks most babies on average are at least 5 lbs. I was told that you can have your baby anywhere from 35 weeks to full term or past and it will be perfectly fine, maybe a few minor issues but nothing major. It all just depends on when you and baby BOTH decide it's time, an I was also told that you can start trying home methods to induce at 37 weeks if you wanted but again sometimes no matter what you try your baby won't come until he/she feels like it. Congrats! I'm 34 weeks today and I'm ready for her to be here as well!

She's not asking for personal opinions. That will only turn this post into an argument. Give facts or dont comment. At 36weeks you will have a premie by definition. If baby weighs under 5lbs they will stay in the nicu hooked up to machines while you go home without your child every night. If you are lucky and baby is over 5lbs there is a RISK of underdeveloped lungs and brain.  The odds are good baby will do fine but you can expect an extra day in the hospital to monitor your baby bc they are a premie at the very least. So yes you can attempt to self-induce now if you want. However, most methods will not work until bith baby and your body are ready. Good luck momma.

The longer you wait the better for your baby but you're 9 months already I don't think you guys would run any major risk if you had your baby anytime soon.

DJCV14 because I've talked to plenty of doctors with actual degrees that say after a certain period of time its okay to have the baby because again the due date is just an estimate just as people go over forty weeks its possible for the baby to come early and be perfectly fine unless the doctor says otherwise its not like she's 28 or26 weeks she's in her third trimester near the end she should be good its good to go full term but is not mandatory if she goes into labor they want **** bricks

Wait until you're full term and then try to start labor. Every week inside the womb has great benefits for your baby. New recommendations are 39 weeks is full term.
