Talked with Scared718 last night, said she was going to go to the doc. today and as of last night she was still having pains that wouldn't go away.  Said she would update after her appointment.

How is everything going?  Was it really labor; if not are you feeling any better?

You are 37 weeks, and if you are having abdominal pains, you should go to the ER if they don't stop. Sounds like you're having contractions. You said you live a whole town away, it would be a good idea to get there...What if you are in labor? I myself live an hour 1/2 from my Dr/Hospital. When I had my last child, I was high risk my Dr induced because he didn't want me to get stuck at home with no way to get to the hospital or worse, get stuck in traffic. Go go go!

Could be Braxton Hicks. If you're doubled over, can't breathe or think straight, hardly can talk, then you're most likely in labor. Contractions would be 5-7 minutes apart. Hopefully you have someone who can drive you if you need to go? You need to call someone to come be with you.

I had something just like you are talking about.. I had a GI track virus, I mean the pains dont feel like period cramps, right.. My stomach was contracting with this horrible sharp pain, stabbing.. and I got hot flashes, and could barely walk.. I couldnt even eat, but my advice is, if you are able to drink, drink lots, gatorade even.. It wont hurt even it you are in labor.. And dont be to scared, you are far enough along that you and your baby will be just fine.  see if you can time the pain, and labor pain is way down low and in your lower back, but relax and dont tense up.. drink lots and take it easy.. all will be fine.. good luck

I would try to take prayerful wife's advice and take a warm bath, drink lots of fluids, and get some rest.  You're going to need it.

If you are feeling like you are going to pass out - PLEASE don't try to drive yourself!!!  I think it definately sounds like time!!  I wish you the best!

You def need to either call the doc or go to the hosp.  especially if you feel like you are going to pass out.  You don't need to pass out and fall on your belly or hit your head.  Besides, you def could be having labor

Usually, your doctor can tell you over the phone whether or not he/she thinks you should go to the hospital.  If the pains are getting stronger and not letting up.  I would call and then go.  You can never be too safe.

If you dont want to go to the hospital yet try drinking lots of fluids to stay hydrated,  lay on your left side to get your blood circulating, try taking a warm bath and then catch a nap.  If after you've done all of this and your still having pains start timing them to see how far apart they are.  If you have 6 or more pains in an hour where it feels like the baby is balling up then releasing him/herself go ahead and call your doctor b/c it could be labor.  You're 37wks so you are considered full term.  Good luck!

try to lay down on your left side to see if they let up.  However, if they don't and your hospital is awhile away, I would go.  Even if they send you home, better safe than sorry. Let us know how it goes!!

Call your doc.  What do they feel like?  Are they upset stomach pains (like diarrhea) or do you feel your belly tightening?  Are you having any discharge?  Def call your doc!
