I had the H1N1 last year when I was preggers, I wasnt able to take anything. Keep up your fluids. If you are unable to stay hydrated you need to visit your dr or local ER.
Hope you feel better
I would like to add: if your doctor doesn't get back to you within a few hours and you're still having diarrhea and vomiting, keep an eye on your urine color. if it begins to dark, get to the urgent care center or ER right away. Dehydration during pregnancy is VERY dangerous. Also, if you can't keep ANYTHING down, are vomiting excessively, feel weak, dizzy, or begin to have stomach cramps (aside from what's normal with diarrhea) you need to get to the hospital immediately without waiting for your doctor's response.
Hi there! I'm so sorry that you're sick...being sick while pregnant is the WORST! Unfortunately flus and colds like to take hold of pregnant women and refuse to let go.
First of all, make sure you're hydrated and that you're eating light, bland foods. Secondly...call your doctor. If you're having diarrhea and vomiting you need to speak with your doctor about what you should do. very often the doctor will call in nausea medicine and/or ask you to come in to be seen and given fluids if you're dehydrated.
He will also be able to tell you what is safe to take. While there are several things on a list of safe drugs to use for diarrhea or vomiting while pregnant, because you have BOTH you will need to consult your doctor. He should have an on-call or weekends doctor who can respond promptly to you. In the meantime, small sips of fluids all the time (clear fluids..water, sprite, ginger ale, etc) and bland foods like crackers and toast.
I hope you feel better soon!
