8 weeks and Constipation

I am 8 weeks today. I have problems with constipation normally. I have been having a LOT of problems now that I am pregnant. Does anyone know what you can take? (stool softeners, laxatives, etc.?)

justice is right.  It is safe to take stool softeners/laxatives.  Make sure to get plenty of fiber in your diet.  Pregnancy alone can cause the constipation but your prenatal vitamins can def help cause more.  They have tons of iron in them, which causes constipation also.

I actually get a prescription prenatal vitamin w/ a mild stool softener in it to help counteract the iron.
