8 weeks pregnant and slight bleed(red) blood then gone to a dark discharge/bleed but only now when i wipe??

any ideas am i about to miscarry im not in any pain but i am under a consultant as my blood levels was nt rising as quick as they should at first also when i was scanned they said i should be 6 weeks preg but only showing to be 4 which i think it about right!! they could nt see the yolk .. going back for a scan tuesday ... have nt told any one about this small bleed as its week end and i know they cant do anything to stop a miscarrage! xx

I am sorry this happened but if you went back a few day's later.. Baby still would have been too small to see... Baby is usually visable between 6-8 weeks...

been for scan today its an ampty sac and i havemto have a d&c on thursday to remove it ..  lightning did strike twice!!!

thanks for your advice . i ve never had any problems with bleeding during pregnancy before that is why i think im going to lose this one my 1st pregnansy went great and had a healthy boy my second pregnancy i thought was goijg great then i went for a amnio antisis as my sister has down syndrome as they were scanning me ready to put the needle in they found lots of problems with my baby girl she had a hydroplastic left heart bright bowel and cyctic hygromas her heart had nt developed properly and only has 2 chambers working and the other 2 were underdeveloped she also had turner -syndrom  i was told she had no chance of survival and i would never get full term as she would die they could nt believe how far id got (17wk 5 days) any way this was 7 days before xmas so a decision was made to have a induced miscarrage on the 20th dec 09 i was put into labour and gave birth to her naturally, i only found out the exstent of her problems after the post mortem.. i have been trying to get pregnant ever since its taken 7 months and when i found out on the 28th of sept the day i arrived back from turkey i ve had nothing but set backs after being referred to early pregnancy unit first the scan said i was only about 4 weeks which is right by my dates when i thionk i concieved but they go from your last period date which was the 21st august but if i was preg from the 21st which is nt possible as my hubby was away til the 27th aug..  then they said my blood levels were low and not rising quick enough then they did my bloods and said with in 48 hours they wanted a 60% rise well after the 48 hours i got a 90% rise so i have been hopfull up until yesterday with this blood spotting, i cannot understand why lightning would strike twice and there is nothing genetic as we got tested to see if the last pregnancy ended that way coz of us .. they said when i concieve again every thing will be fine !!!  fingers crossed for tuesday . x

If you are on the track of miscarriage, it is not uncommon to not get any pain until the expelling actually takes place.. If the sac is not developing, it would take weeks for that to happen and you can continue to experience pregnancy symptoms..

I probably went 5 weeks from the time that mine stopped developing until I found out.. and even then I didnt expell it naturally. There was another lady who recently went through this and it took 7 and half weeks to naturally miscarriage.

its always so frustrating because what ends up being normal for one person, ends up not being normal for another..

You will need to wait for your 2nd scan and bloodwork for a definite answer but the lack of pain doenst make the bleed normal..   I really hope its not the case for you, as its terrible experience..

I decided with my next pregnancy to not read about other peoples experiences because every thing i experienced was normal for some people and a sign of miscarriage for others....

the bleed last night was about half a table spoon of red blood then stopped then about 1 tbl spoon no bleed during the night then today more like a dark red/light brown discharge but only when i wipe not every time just maybe every few hours still no pain at all

i hate to think negative but this does sound like maybe you will m/c...i had the same thing happen to me in feb and what it sounds like is the baby is not forming..and you are right nobody can do anything if you are miscarrying but you need to rest and sometimes it can be painful but just dont give up yet sweetie we may be wrong but best of luck

I dont want to scare you as someone women bleed and it is fine.. others do not...

You will have to wait to see as I have heard stories go both ways.

My ovum didnt develop, when I had my US there was no yolk sac or fetal pole.  I had no pain, or cramps and had very high HCG levels at one point..  The most I had prior to finding out was a slight pink discharged a couple days after I found out I was pregnant and it did not last long and I didnt find out the pregnancy  was not viable until 7 weeks after that (when I was apparently 12 weeks pregnant - the gest sac measured 7 weeks 5 days).  Best of luck but there is definately a chance you might end up miscarriage.
