AFI is 9 CM

Hi All,

I am in 33 weeks.
Recently i had undergone the Ultrasound scan.
My reports says that my AFI is 9CM..
I am very worried now..

Please help me,do i need to worry...

If so ,then how to increase the AFI.

Yes they should do but only if it falls below 5 n provb give u steroid shots to help with babies lungs

my amniotic fluid is low.(9) and i am 23weeks. i had to go to uconn concerning this. they told me to drink ALOT of water. but mine also could be low seeming as im only 17 years old.
just drink water make that all you drink.

if my amniotic fluid goes down anymore do you think they will make me stay in the hospital?

I was trying to google this and couldn't find too much...one site said the levels are suppose to be between 8-18. So I am not sure what they are suppose to be at this point for you...I'm guessing somewhere in that range. Are you staying well hydrated? Drink lots of water!! Also, bring this up to your doc, they should be able to explain it to you. I would think if it was a problem, they would have given you some sort of instructions or advice to put your mind at ease, but definitely speak with them about it so you understand.

How much amniotic fluid are you supposed to have at 33 weeks? Did your doctor not talk to you about this result and what you could do?
