ANYONE heard of this?? Please help if you can:)

Here goes......I posted a question last night that a few of you answered (thank you) about an embarrassing problem I have been having......skin irritation and itching around the anus.  I am 30 weeks and I went to the doctor today so he could take a look AGAIN.....he looked at it already on May 5th.  Yes, this horrible problem has been going on that long and has seriously disturbed my life!  Last time and this time again he prescribed me a seven day vaginal cream, like for a yeast infection.  Right before May 5th I was on antibiotic for about 10 days and that does usually cause me to have a yeast infection.

I guess my question is:  has anyone heard of a yeast infection causing the skin around the anus to be red and itchy too??  I am sooo sorry if this is TMI, but I am confused and so very uncomfortable!!  Thanks for any information:)

Thank you so very much for responding..........you all really did make me feel better and not so crazy, lol.  This has just been so embarrassing that I haven't really talked to my partner much about it.............its definitely NOT a very sexy topic!  We have not been intimate for about three weeks now because of it:(

Again--thanks sooo much!  I am so glad I can come on here with this type of thing!

This sounds a bit silly but I had the same problem..it turned out I had a reaction to the toilet paper..we always buy recycled natural but I used this stupid one that was floral scented with pictures....so yeh but I'm sure that might not be your problem, the ladies above have some helpful ideas. Good luck.

Yep, which is why baby's can have diaper rashes that are actually yeast infections ( I saw that on a commercial, actually) I also said in my reply last time that it may be. Hope you get something that works.

Yea... it's possible. I get yeast infections ALL THE TIME.. it drives me crazy. and sometimes it spreads to my perineum... but hasn't spread to the anus yet.. it'd be feasible that it could tho.

yes it possable. sometimes woman get a yeast infection just on th outside so the whole area is itchy and sore. and sometimes if the infection has gotten so bad it will make other areas effected too.

I do believe that it is possible as the perineum (place between anus and vagina) is short. I would use the 7-day treatment and if it clears up, you'll definitely know it was a yeast infection. If it gets worse and persists while using the yeast infection, call your doctor. But yeast infection sure beats hemorroids!!!
