The original poster came here asking for advice on the situation with her blood test, not a discussion on her choice to have an abortion. Please limit your comments to the question she asked rather than adding additional opinions about what she should or should not have done originally. Thank you!
I agree with the above person ignore the rude comments. 13 is pretty low. Unless you've had unprotected sex since the abortion I would think your hormone levels are still dropping. My hormone levels were still at 300 three months after one of my miscarriages. Everyone is different. Give it another week. They will probably be zero.
You r hormones could just be taking a while to drop completely. A third blood test might be beneficial in this case.
Also, if you can't be supportive and offer advice it is best to simply not comment and move on from the post.
If you've had unprotected sex since the abortion (this includes using the withdrawal method, as this is not birth control) its very possible to be pregnant again. Do you know what type of blood test he is doing? After two draws it should not still be unclear. If he's checking the hCG levels, they would either be rising or dropping. Dropping would indicate a non-viable pregnancy, and rising would mean new pregnancy or retained tissue from an uncompleted termination. Find out what your levels are exactly, and it will give you a more clear picture of what is going on. If needed, don't hesitate to get a second opinion as well.
Did you have sex or unprotected sex after your abortion? You could possibly be pregnant again if so because it is easier to do so after an abortion and miscarriage. Or else I wouldn't be 16 weeks pregnant right now. Just wait another week or so and go to another doctor. Good luck
I would say most likely just remainder hormones, slight possibility of new preg but not likely. Next thing to think is if they didn't do it correctly and still preg. Good luck to you.
To others: she is not asking advice for abortion. It is her right to make that choice. I don't agree with it either but that's not what she was asking. Bc doesn't work all the time either, 6 out of my 7 babies were concieved on different forms of bc.
I am not too farmiliar with abortions, but I do want to say that the choice was hers to make and she came here for advice not to be judged so please keep that in mind. The fact that your doctor keeps claiming your blood test as unclear may be because he thinks it is from the abortion. If you have another blood test (which I reccommend) and he still fails to give you a more detailed answer then I would get a second opinion. I know that dosnt help much but I hope maybe a little!
i would say it is most likely just your hormones after the abortion, if the doc keeps saying its inconclusive then it seems like the levels arent rising like they would in a new pregnancy.
is there a possibility it could be a new pregnancy? if you are pregnant again and you are thinking about another abortion please look in to birth control to assure this doesnt happen again... there is so much information out there...
im not being judgmental but ive been ttc for 2 years going on 3 so i dont agree with abortions but everyone has their reasons... so please just look in to birth control if having a baby is something you dont want
