Advil and Pregnancy

Hi! I am 24, and I have always had terrible cramps during my periods. I ALWAYS have to take medicine and take it easy for a few days during my period. I usually take Advil the day before my expected period because they say that it works better if you take it before the pain starts. It does for me. Here is my problem: My husband and I are always dreaming and hoping for a baby. Is it a good idea to take Advil the day before my expected period when there is a chance I could be pregnant?

I used to get horrible cramps too. I was on prescription medication for the pain. I would try using tylenol, same as with advil by taking it the day before. And also use a heating pad the morning you start your period. That might be able to help and would be safer if you are TTC. good luck

You could probably just use Advil then. Just remember if you are pregnant you won't be able to use it for any pain then without risk to the baby.

From what I've read on what you can take while pregnant, ibuprofen is on the list of stuff to avoid and thats whats the pain killer in advile. Take tylenol instead as it has acetaminophen, thats what they tell pregnant woman to take for aches and pains

Wouldnt really matter at that point but they say during pregnancy only to use tylenol.

While the child is still young it probably wouldn't hurt anything that early, but if you are pregnant you cannot take Advil at all, so it wouldn't hurt to get into the habit of taking Tylenol instead.
