Am I at risk of losing my baby?

almost the last hour now ive had this dull shooting pain in my lower right abdomen right by my hip. i know this is the general area for noticing signs for appendicitis and i am severely concerned.

I am currently 13 weeks pregnant as of today and I am worried that if it needs to come out or if it does burst and then i have to have surgery, that I will lose my baby because it is not old enough to survive something this strenuous.

i know during pregnancy any surgery is risky not just for mom but for baby but some babies can pull through surgery later on in development and since im not so far along, i honestly dont think my baby will make it.

can anyone help ease my mind?

the pain was bad enough that if i moved from one position to the next i was grabbing my hip to try and get it to stop. ive had the ligament pain before in the very front or left side and that wasnt as severe as this although im sure my uterus is stretching more now than it was before..i can tell on the outside thats for sure!

its basically gone now but still is there if i move too fast or lay in a funny way but like i said, ill talk to my doctor about it tuesday and see what she thinks about it

Are the pains enough to make you have to stop what you are doing or do they make you double over?  If it's just shooting pains that come and go it's likely just ligament pain.  It CAN be one sided, especially if your uterus tends to lean a certain way.  I would think that if it were your appendix the pain would be much more severe.  I know that when my brother had his out the pains were pretty intense pretty much from the start.

It could be like another poster said, a kidney infection or something.  I really duobt it's something that is going to cause you to lose your baby, even if a procedure is required.

Also, lots of people have medical procedures during pregnancy.  As long as the procedure does not involve the uterus, and as long as they know you are pregnant, there are a lot of steps they can take to make everything work just fine and not affect the baby.

i go in on tuesday to see my doctor and i can ask her then. the pain eventually subsided but i guarantee im drinking plenty.

i havent had any kidney infections before so i never thought about it and last night it never went around to my back.

im hoping this was just a fluke pain and it will stay away now that its subsiding but i will be sure to ask my doctor on tuesday if it could be anything more serious

thank you so much for your message!

are you sure it might not be a water/kidney infection?
when i was 14 weeks pregnant with my first i got a similar pain in my front on the right, that started dull and gradually got more painful and eventually the pain went round to where my kidneys were. i took some antibiotics and was fine. make sure you are drinking plenty, especially now the better weather is here. you should at least make a docs appt to be seen asap.  best wishes
