Another Mucous Plug Question....

gotta love pregnancy and all the confusing bits of it lol :) any how, here is my questions......Is it true, just to make sure, that you dont have to lose your mucous plug all in one sitting, that you can lose it gradually, like over a couple of days or whatever. But when do you know you've lost it all? and what do you do after?

So i been wondering about the plug myself. So it does it have to be bloody or brownish  I been getting like these snotty look a like (sorry TMI) discharge. Its not the normal extra fluids or discharge you get. Its like a burger came out. Its clear, i havent noticed any brownish or bloody color to it. Its been going on for a few weeks now. Is that normal??

BTS1022-You are saying it can grow back?? Im 27 weeks tomorrow and well its a little scary to think that i might be loosing my plug.

i finished losing my plug last night at 10pm and it looks like a snot loogie.  my doctor said that i am 1/2cm-1cm dialated and the plug is gone.  but, as BTS has mentioned, if baby is not ready to come out, i've also heard that it can grow back...

The only time I noticed losing my plug was one day in the shower.  I looked down and there was 2 marble sized blood tinged glops at the bottom of the shower!  I was shocked and, of course, freaked out.  :)  That was a good 3 weeks before I had my daughter.  I don't know if I lost any more of my plug after that...I never noticed.  Hang in there...it sounds like you're getting close!  :)

Yup, it is perfectly normal to lose it through a few days instead of all at once. Infact most women do not know they have even lost their plug. Im thinking that the discharge will eventually decrease once all of it is out. Some women lose it way early, but a mucous plug CAN grow back.

I also lost mine in chunks, TMI sorry, kinda like small little dry boogies lol. Mine were kinda greenish in color as well, and eventually the gross booger stuff would stop coming out, which is when I figured it had all came out.

yes!!  because that is what is happening to me.  that is how it happened for a few of my friends as well.  i don't know when you know you have lost it completely.  i think maybe labor gradually comes... ???  i am seeing my doctor tomorrow for my first internal exam.  i will let you know what she says.
