Are you kidding me?

So I get a call from my 5 yos teacher.  Apparently (this is the version I got on the phone) the kids and teachers were sitting on the carpet in the classroom reading a story...and some unknown bug jumped up and bit Zach on the lip.  Of course he went to screaming.  They couldn't find/catch the bug to see what it was.  They have him sitting in the office with ice on his lip right now.  They said he was fine and I didn't need to come get it, just wanted me to know what happened.

First of all, how the heck did a bug of that size go unnoticed by a bunch of kids, second what would provoke a bug to do that?  So now I'm wondering...WHAT it was...is he gonna have a reaction to...what kind of diseases was it carrying...I think I'll be watching him like a hawk for the next several days.  That poor kid just gets the raw end of everything.  Several weeks ago he broke his toe.  Not once but twice in a week...same toe.  Then he got the flu.  Now a bug bite.  Sheesh!

Well I guess this bugs bark was bigger than it's bite so to speak.  If they hadn't told me about it I never would have even noticed anything wrong with his lip.  By the time he got home I had to really look hard for the teeny tiny red spot.  So unless he starts foaming at the mouth or something in the next few days I think we're good to go :)

Oh no, your poor son! I would try not to worry about the bite, especially if the school didn't notice anything. I'll send hugs to you and your son. Sounds like you both need them. :)
