BBT - need input
Hi all,
I have been charting for a few months now using diffrent programs and for two month with this site and I love this site. I've been seeing the paterns forming and I know when i'm ovulating using the BBT chart and the OPK tests. (I've also used the saliva ferning test but that doesn't seem to work for me.) I've heard that if you do get pregnant that your temp. will stay high after ovulation. I'm now on 7 DPO and my temp went from 97.8 yesterday to 97.5 today. Does this mean that we may have missed the boat again this month???? Has anyone else concieved even though there temps went back down after ovulation?

LOL...i'm glad your optomistic for me because i'm still in the "scared I'm getting my hopes up for nothing" stage...lol But thank you so much for prayers and your positive vibe....i'm sure it helps.
Yay! Okay, okay....I will try not to get my hopes up as well, but I can't help it......I am keeping my fingers crossed and keeping you in my prayers. I am also sending you tons of baby dust!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well another 97.7 this morning....I really hope this is it....i'm scared that i'm getting my hopes up again and then come crashing down when AF comes along on Monday or Tuesday. My breasts have been tender since last night which is the norm for me just before AF. So who knows, guess I'll have to wait until next week and see. :(

Wow, another little girl...you guy's sure have been blessed. Your kids absolutly adorable by the way....such beauties! I'm sure eveything will work out financially, there's always a way. And i'm sure your kids will definitly be happy to have mommy at home with them. Well take care and keep me posted.

My pregnancy is going well. Thanks so much for asking. I only have about 6 1/2 weeks left to go and I am counting down for sure!! I have decided to stay home after I have this baby. It will be so hard financially and I am terrified really, but the demands of working full time and already being a mother of 5 (almost 6 now), is just not working out. My kids need me and I never want to have to choose. I just refuse. So, somehow we will make it work. Heck, we're going to have to! But all is well w/ the pregnancy and I am getting excited to meet my little girl. I know she will steal my heart and be just as beautiful as all of her sisters. She'll have enough of them, that's for sure! LOL!

StarPatience- I have that book, a friend lent it to me and i have the cd with free trial and followed that as well for a long time. But for some reason we still have not been able to conceive. We are waiting for my husbands sperm count results and then if that's all well my doctor will start testing me.

I HIGHLY reccomend the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility." Its a wonderful book for any woman to get to know their body in every form and you will really learn a lot about achieving pregnancy. It helped me a lot and I believe its the reason why Im pregnant today. Nothing was working before I starting reading the book but I just wasnt doing it right and following other signs that contribute to fertility. Good luck!! Baby dust to you!
Well, I am still hoping and praying that you get your BFP this month! I mean you are right. If you aren't feeling well, that can sure be a factor. BUT, it could still also be a good sign. Plus you said you have been feeling under the weather for the last week yet you still had a temp drop. So you feeling well may have had not effect at all!! Soooooo, keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Well my BBT went back up to 97.7 this morning but i'm not getting to excited because from looking at my BBT chart from last month my BBT went up and down lots before AF reared her ugly face and then my BBT went down CD1. My temp going up could also be sign of a virus as i have been feeling a bit under the weather in the last week.
I sure hope God blesses us this month with a little one but i don't want to get my hopes up just to have them crushed again.

Sounds like you are doing everything right! If you need anything or have any questions, please feel free to ask.
And I def would wait until AF is suppose to show to test. Your body doesn't start producing HCG until after implantation takes place. If your dip is due to implantation, it would have taken place yesterday or today. Once your body starts producing the HCG hormone, it will double every 24 to 48 (maybe 72) hours. So, it wouldn't be detectable yet.

Yes i temp before i get out of bed at the same time every morning. I made the same mistake every beginner makes of tracking BBT at various times until i was told the correct way of doing it and then i started seeing my temps making much more sense...lol.
I don't mind your questions at all because the more info i can get the better for me.
We definitly won't have the A/C running tonight as the weather is not all that great today so i'm curious as to what my temp will be tomorrow morning. This 2 ww is so hard. Just want to test everyday to see if I MIGHT get a positive but i know it would definitly be too early to tell anyways.

I looked at your chart and it looks like you have normal LP phases. I would wait and see what happens tomorrow on your chart. Wait and see if your temp goes back up in the morning. And if you had a drastic change in temp in your house, that may be a contributer too. My temps were never that sensitive, but everyone is different, so you never know.
Is MH the only place you chart?? I charted on Fertility Friend and really liked it. I also charted on MH later once they offered it. When I first started charting, MH didn't have that feature.

Hmmm....Did you start charting on the first day of your period? Just wondering if you started charting at the beginning of your cycle.

Well my BBT was lower again this morning 97.2 (but still over the coverline). We also did have the A/C on all night so that might have something to do with it as I was a bit chilly this morning.
Man this 2 www is a killer....I always tell myself I won't test if i'm not late by a week but curiousity get's the best of me every month. Hope this month i can just wait it out and not waste a test again.

You should be able to go to my profile and look at my photos. Click on the view all tab. It's the 2nd photo right next to my + pregnancy tests. Let me know if you still can't look at it. I have never set it to be private or just for friends or whatever. If you still can't look at it, invite me to be your friend, and then maybe that will help. Like I said, I have never intentionally set it to where only my friends can view my photos, but stranger things have happened.....

When I charted my temp last year I remember it taking a weird dip near the end. In fact it actaully went down a bit the day I found out I was pregnant. When I saw that I immediately counted myself out but by the end of the day I had a BFP. Charting your BBT is a great way to get an idea of your body's cycles, etc but don't totally count yourself out till you take a test. Best of luck!
It could well be an implantation dip.or they are some waht a myth.but is possible.or it could be a second estrogen surge.this is common,I wouldnt worry about the odd drop in temp.your looking for 18days of high temps,ideally above your coverline,this can indicate pregnancy.7dpo is a bit early yet.so keep those fingers crossed,and dont worry about it.im still temping now at 8 weeks pregnant and had lots of lower temps.baby dust to you.

This could very well be an implantation dip. The timing would def be spot on. Some women get them and some don't.
I charted for a year to avoid pregnancy and then got pregnant on purpose on December charting. I have my BFP chart under my profile pictures. You are more than welcome to take a look if you'd like.
