Baby Movement

Ok so I am 16 weeks and 5 days, I have been feeling some pressure like gas in my lower ribs is this the baby moving? The doctor told me that it might be the babys foot but I want to know if anyone else has felt the baby move at right over 16 weeks. The baby is about 2 weeks bigger then the sack if that makes any difference at all! Thanks for your help!

i am 19 weeks now and i've been feeling my baby since around 14 weeks and this is my first baby. I think it might have to do with the fact that my uterus is retroverted. I kind of jumped right into distinct nudges and kicks and pokes. Although, i will add that when i'm lying down and the baby it rolling over, it kind of feels like a pressure/stretching

Lol. at sixteen wks to feel bub at the ribs, then by 30 wk my boy would be in my ears!

NAh hun your uterus is much lower then belly button. And baby movement isnt pressure. The pressure your feeling (that HIGH) is definatly GAS.

If someones pregnant with twins, they could very well be feeling the babies at the lower part of the stomach or bottom rib. Remember with twins your uterus is 3 to 4 weeks ahead of someone with a singleton. And, it's also possible not to be knowledgeable of having twins to until your 16th to 20th week by ultrasound. One of my friends went her whole birth believing she only had one little bean in there, turns out there was two though when she gave birth! What a surprise! But, in truth you would feel much more rest assured if you were to ask your doctor or OB/GYN about your concerns and questions. :))

Fetal movements are usually first felt between around 16-20 weeks, although this can vary from woman to woman. At first this feels like a gentle fluttering, and women can often mistake it for 'wind'. As the pregnancy progresses, these movements become stronger and kicks can be felt.

First-time mums often feel movements later as they are less sure what to expect. Also women who are very active may miss the subtle feelings of early movement.

If I'm not mistaken, the baby doesn't reach the belly button until around 20 wks. I'm not sure that you would feel the baby in your ribs at 16wks.
