Baby Shower?

I have friend that is throwing a baby shower for me and I haven't made a baby registry yet at a store. This is my first baby and I would like to make one but I'm not sure where to go and I would like to choose a store that I know is easy for everyone to get to and not make people feel like they have to spend alot.

My mother had said to do 2 different registries but I feel like that's asking others for to much? What did you do for your baby showers?

I did Walmart, Target, and Babies R Us. You want to give them options and whatever isn't purchased they mail you coupons for. When you make the registry only ask for things you absolutely need! I made the mistake of asking for things that weren't necessities (along with things I truly did need) and 95% of my gifts were the things I really didn't need and I had to go out the next day to purchase all of the necessities. Some things you'll need: crib/changing table, changing table pad, pack n play (look for one with basinette), bouncer, swing, high chair, activity gym, boppy, bottles, breast pump if you plan to breast feed (some insurances will cover one so check first!), sheets and matress pad for crib, diapers, wipes, baby monitor (unless you live in an apartment or will spend the babies nap time by them), burp cloths, travel system (always check reviews first!), bath tub (soaps, wash cloths, towels), high chair (bibs, spoons, bowls for when they get bigger). Those are the things you truly NEED that are more pricey, everything else I suggest purchasing yourself or at least being careful with how many extras you ask for. DON'T ask for clothes or toys on the registry, everyone will buy those anyways and they won't be any of the things you ask. I suggest buying receiving blankets yourself, go to TJ Maxx they have super cute ones and were like $5 for 6 (check out the diaper bags, diaper bag organizers, car accessories, clothes, and baby wash cloths/towels they're cheap but all great brands) also suggest buying all bath things yourself (not too expensive). Don't worry about asking for too much on the registry, if people can't afford it they won't buy it and then you'll have a coupon so you can go get it.

^^^ Yes true not everyone will buy something from your registry. A lot of times they just use it as a guideline of what you need which I find very frustrating because I'm one of those people who are very particular about what I want.

I did walmart and target, somethings i put on both but it didnt matter anyway bc i got one thing off my registery lol there were over 60 people there and no one bought from it. Kust put on anything and everything and dont worry abput the price. People love to go in groups and buy one big item. Like my mom helped me with mine and put on this SUPER nice $200 rocking chair and my aunt, her three daughters, and my grandma spilt the cost n got it for me. Its just there as suggestions to what you would like to have

Babies R Us is super expensive. I would choose Walmart or Target. I personally did my registry online and Walmart had a bigger selections and I liked the things there more. Plus I'm a bargain shopper and didn't want people spending a whole lot plus there are like 3 walmarts around us. But you can also do one at the store.

Babies R Us is great.  They have lists of suggested items, they know which are the most popular, and they give you a scanner and you walk through the store and beep things and then it is all online.  Your friends can shop online from them and have the item shipped if they are out of town.  And if you later buy things you didn't get from the registry, there is a discount.
