Back from hospital stay- questions

So i went into the hospital monday at eleven am due to inbareable stomach pain. I was contracting every two minutes but couldnt walk or breathe the pain was so bad w or w/o contractions. The hospital sent me to a larger hospital as im 34 wks. They ran a bunch of test and couldnt find anything abnormal. They did an amino and babies lung maturity is at a 23 and they want him at a 45. They sent me home last night w pain meds to see if i got better or worse. My contractions spaced out and became irregular so now we just wait and see i guess. Im still in pain my cervix nevr changed besides dropping a bit after a day and a half of contractions staying 2 min apart. This morning i woke up w a drenched shirt from breast milk... Weird to me?! The doc said since i have more than average fluid snd a big baby my body may just have had enough. Anyone else go thru this? How long til u had ur baby? This is my 3 rd and ive never exoerienced this. My contractions were hurting so bad i couldnt stand them it felt like full blown labor and they were off the charts on the monitor but no cervical change. What the heck is going on?! Help pls.

Thank you. I caved and took 2 percocet this time i was due for meds. Does anyone think that the breast milk starting to leak suddenly is another sign baby is ready or my body is ready? Like i sais two full term babies and never experienced this stuff!!!

I'm sorry to hear you're going through this.  It is possible that the pain and stress are causing real contractions and labor for you.  That's why they want you to take the pain meds, so that the baby has more time to grow and get his lungs stronger.
I also went into preterm labor at 34 weeks and they stopped it with a pill of some heart med called something like procardia.  I was having very weak contractions and couldn't even feel them, though.
Pain can cause a lot of stress and stress can be bad for the baby.  I would recommend taking it as easy as you can and taking the pain meds as you need to.  It's more important for the baby to develop than for you to be in pain and risk him being born too soon.  I doubt the baby would have much effects, if any, from the meds they prescribed for you.

If it's time for baby, it's time for baby I guess. I wouldn't worry too much about him/her being born early. I'm sure the baby will be fine. Maybe this is your body's way of saying that you need to have baby now because it won't fit later. If you're in that much pain, don't wait until tomorrow. The hospital is there for a reason, GO.

I'm so sorry sweetie that sounds AWFUL...I was on a morphine pump for a few days when I was pregnant with my daughter for kidney stones (my kidney was blocked and swollen to twice it's normal size...it was excruciating) but it was in the 2nd trimester...I can't imagine how scary it is to be feeling this pain and having to take such strong meds so close to delivery :(. you and baby will be just fine though..I was born at 35wks and aside from a little milk allergy I was able to go home and thrived just fine...so don't worry if s/he decides to come now. *hugs*

They said at thus point they dont like to stop them bc therisks at this point outweigh the benefits meaning if my body says its time for baby to come out then its probably time. Ughh i wish theyd either stop or theyd do something.

can they not give you a shot to stop them? My mum did, I was nearly born at 6 months! and they gave her a shot!

I don't know, maybe that's all it was...just preterm labor. Did they not set up a follow up appointment?

I have had two kids and never experienced that much pain. They at one point gave me a morphine pump bc i was throwing up and almost passing out from the pain but my cervix hardly changed so frustrating!! They said i could labor like this for weeks before delivering but dont wanna have to keep taking heavy narcatics!

I was in hosp last Wed for contractions Every 4 mins, and the only thing they did for me was to give me a test to see if I was going to go into labour within 10 days! It came baack negative. I wasnt given pain meds or anything or any other test,. Personally I think if you still having contractions you go back okay! :)

You might be like me and have serious BH contractions!
